A regional Olympiad among students of technical and vocational education institutions was held

On April 28 of this year, a regional Olympiad among students of technical and vocational education institutions was held at the I. Abdykarimov Kyzylorda Polytechnic Higher College in the subjects of History of Kazakhstan, World History, and Geography.The Olympiad was organized jointly by the “Social Disciplines” Cycle Commission and the Kyzylorda Regional Professional Development Institute, a branch of JSC “National Center for Professional Development ‘Orleu’.”
Objectives of the competition:
– To assess the knowledge level of students in History of Kazakhstan, World History, and Geography;
– To create conditions for students’ career guidance by supporting their knowledge, abilities, and intellectual development;
– To develop students’ intellectual activity and interest in scientific knowledge.
A total of 17 educational institutions took part in the Olympiad, including: Kyzylorda Pedagogical Higher College named after M. Mametova, Higher College of “Bolashak” University, Kazaly Agrarian and Technical College, Kyzylorda Higher Multidisciplinary College, Kyzylorda Medical Higher College, Bolashak Higher Medical College, Shieli Industrial and Agrarian College, Kyzylorda College of Construction and Business named after S. Yskakov, Kyzylorda College of Service and Maintenance named after M. Salamatov, Technical IT Higher College named after M. Yksanov, “Orkeniet” Medical College, Baikonur Higher College named after S.A. Dzhienkulov, I. Abdykarimov Kyzylorda Polytechnic Higher College, Abilai Khan Higher College, Karmakshy Agrarian and Technical College, and others. The Olympiad was held at a high level.The participants’ works were evaluated by an expert panel consisting of: Zhanar Kulyumbetova, Senior Lecturer at the Kyzylorda Regional Professional Development Institute (branch of JSC “Orleu”); Zhanat Mnazhovna Bekseitova, Methodologist of the Regional Educational and Methodological Center; and Aida Otkelbaiqyzy Yergaliyeva, Lecturer of Kazakh Language and Literature at the I. Abdykarimov Kyzylorda Polytechnic Higher College.
The Olympiad consisted of two stages:
Stage I – test questions;
Stage II – essay writing tasks.
According to the results of the Olympiad, students were awarded diplomas of I, II, and III degrees, as well as letters of appreciation.The responsible teachers for organizing the Olympiad were: S.S. Ibraeva, A.M. Bigaliyeva, U.M. Askarova, and Zh.T. Kilybayeva.
